I'm Steve Williams. (That's me on the left in the photo, with my daughter Alison and my wife Lisa. They help out at the shop too.) I started Backstreet Leather more than 30 years ago - with a table built of recycled flooring and an old wooden phone booth in the old Cameron Village Subway of Raleigh back in 1974.
Over the years, I've made thousands of genuine, hand-tooled and hand-crafted leather items, from belts to hats to sandals, and I've always strived to make each customer happy with his or her purchase. Our leather goods are personalized with custom tooling, lettering and carving and dyed to your individual order, making your Backstreet Leather purchase a unique possession, a one of a kind item made specifically for you.
We’ve remained small, but even so, we’ve put belts, buckles, purses, hats, sandals, garments, and a lot of other leather items, from normal to pretty strange, on a lot of people and animals, from Raleigh and from around the country and the world.
So we’ve been around awhile and expect to be here a lot longer, with the next generation taking over eventually.
Our intent, our talent, our pleasure, and our guarantee is to make you happy that you possess or have given a Backstreet Leather product |
